i sampled a drumbreak into the mpc 2500. i auto chopped the break and made a program with the samples. i recorded a sequence and played it back and it sounded fine. i used the same program and recorded another pattern on another track. when i played it back some sounds sounded cut off and some weren't playing at all. so i changed all the samples in the program to poly and it still didnt work. i tried setting all of em to mono and it didnt work. there are no mute groups assigned. how do i get this fixed? please help... thanks in advance

Is this the first beat you have made? Or the first time this has ever happened to you?
You might have the samples on MUTE GROUP if they are cutting off...

he said it's not mute groups. this question is asked all the time and it's almost always because the program "Play" field is set to mono instead of poly.

i tried changing all pads to poly and it didnt work.... could it b because i haven't updated the os in 8 months? im running the akai os...

Possible sources of your problem are:

- set mute groups off
- set pads to poly
- if more then 32 voices play simultaneous you running out of voices
- your RAM could be faulty

it's not the pads being set to mono that i was talking about, it's the program itself. check page 85 in the manual.
