Thinking about getting a 2500! Worth it?

Yeah I bought my 2500 on ebay. It was pretty much new, the guy was the original owner and he only had it for a few months. When I recieved it, it looked spanking new. No signs of use at all.

Paid $860 and shipping was $30 or something...

Oh, forgot to ask one of my most important questions. Does the 2500 timestretch? This is a very valuable feature for me!

Can't wait! Probably won't get it til Christmas though. But when I was in Japan, I made a few joints on the one in the music store I went to. It had a bunch of sound programs loaded into it and I spent about a good hour playing around with it. I was able to find my way around the machine very easily considering I didn't have a manual. The only thing I didn't really like about it was the different sound parameter screen. But I'm sure it is a reason they made the screen the way they did. Probably just something I have to get used to.

I did also notice a bug though. Sometimes when I pushed the mode button to ge into some of the menus, the mode button wouldn't work. The red light wouldn't even light up. Then it just started working again. Then it stopped working again. Then it worked again and didn't give me anymore problems again. You familiar with this issue?

I would guess that the reason the light and or button was not working correctly is because it's a floor unit. What I mean is... alot of people have probably played with that unit and most people don't treat demo equipment with care and respect. Just remember when you get yours, you dont have to bang on the buttons so hard. Just a simple tap will work.

one question: i just got the 2,5k and the sequencer seems shitty, it doesnt play back my performance right, it changes my timing to the drums how do i increase the resolution on the sequencer?

i hate my 2500. i would kill for my 2000 back... problem free is the way to be.

nah i love mine got to buy jjos2 and ram but its just that sequencer prob:(

there is nothing wrong with your sequencer, you have to go turn timing correct OFF.

Or change it to 1/16 or 1/32

I personally think that thee " 2500 " is one of akai's tuffest machine today.......
i've had no prob ( until i installed that os 1.24, ish slowed down me deli-shop )
but thanks to sum of thee real heads ( massive respect to ) that r in this site...
gave me sum insight... so iam proud to say that thee jjos is whut u need if u have
a 1000 or 25k......

When I do get it, I am gonna learn on the stock OS before I get the JJ. If I jump right into the JJ, I prolly won't appreciate how much better it is if I don't get familiar with the stock first!

Either turn timing of or play with swing and lateness.

yeah. i was rocking the free jj os for so long. it's basically the akai os but improved upon nothing new to learn. just programmed with the user in mind. now i'm on os1. never thought i'd make it this far but it does have stuff i've been taking advantage of thats made me not be able to go back to the free os. verry interesting...

Yup.

In my opinion the 4k and the 2500 with JJOS2 are the best MPC's.
