Well the onboard sequencer isn't as user friendly as the EA-1, but the Mopho's sound will stomp it into the ground (well below sea level). The feature set is surprisingly good for an analog monophonic synth at this price point.
There's significantly more complexity in the signal flow of a Mopho than a Little Phatty, SE-1X or Future Retro Revolution. Sub-oscillators and more modulation possibilities etc.... and it sounds just as BIG (if not bigger)!
It's a killer bass machine and also great at leads and bleepy freakouts. If I were Moog, Studio Electronics or Future Retro, I'd be frantically designing a similar budget analog synth to put into production ASAP!! When the global economy sinks even deeper, these manufacturers are going to lose ground to Dave Smith.
Who here has $1,300+ for an XS, Little Phatty or SE-1X??? Maybe a few.
Who here can scrounge up $400 and add some serious balls to their Motif or NI softsynths? Probably more than a few dozen.
