most the time i freestyle it with tc off, but sometimes i use note repteat and tc depends on the sound im going for,most the time i just play em!
I like to sit down once a day and just have a jam with some kits ,not recording just practice,sometimes play a long to a simple kick,snare seq or play over a hihat seq,and dropping in rolls on the end of the fourth bar ,i think the best way is to get more of a feel for it in a musical way,rather than using on swing,tc,note repeat all the time, sometimes its sounds to stiff for me,thats just down to preference though, also when tcs off you full res timing from the sequencer.
