Using the MPC1000 as a loopstation (like an RC-20)

Has anybody used the 1000 with a foot pedal as a loopstation to layer live performance? Eg. drummer records a loop, guitarist overdubs a loop, bassist overdubs a loop, etc.....

I'd say that would be hard... the Sample recording is not "live" in the loopstation way, it's a 2-stage process. 1) record samples to memory, 2) trigger samples, live or sequenced. In a loopstation (as I understand the concept), the clock is always running and you switch in and out of audio recording without interruption = a 1-stage process.

The MPC1000 is not really a live looper. There is other gear designed for live looping similar to the RC-20
