How to hold a note until release?

I have some samples loaded on the MPC, but they are really long... I just want them to play as long as I hold my finger on the pad.. Right now they play the whole sample, and I don't want that.... I tried everything,

This should be in your manual. But I'll give you the answer, since you're probably not familiar with the terminology.
Go to PROGRAM (MODE + PAD 7). Look for PLAY MODE and change it from ONE SHOT to NOTE ON.

I just went to program and I couldn't find anything you described. I'm running JJ os 1, 3.08. The Tabs are Sample, Filter, Params, Note, LFO.

Wow this JJ os is killing me! can't even record anything... wtf is going on with this thing.. I'm going back to the other op!

and in general avoid defeatism
and maybe even look at the image in my signature for ONESHOT

Also any time you move the cursur over something and the window button pops lights up ........Try hittin it.......You might find what your lookin for.
