If I was going with a new deck, since most of the records I have and pick up are beat up anyways, I'd go with a straight arm for better skip resistance.

I'd probably go with a brand new stanton joint than say a used tech. I say that cause new stantons and used techs are more comparable in price than both being brand new.

It's nice to get a warranty for a new purchase, and also to be the 1st to use it.

I just picked up a Stanton STR860 with Shure Whitelabel needle from a DJ friend who spins techno but is tired of carrying vinyl around. $110 total and everything is in good condition.

on some real shit, stanton str8-60 might be entry level, but ill be damned if they aint solid dex, they dont have the skate control, the arm lifter or auto return, but i love mine. and ive gotten down on techs and loved them , but the fact of knowing that i rock the 60's just like i do techs, and paid SOOOO much less make me dig on them that much more.

How is the torque compared to the techs?
