thought it would be easy ! im running jjos 1 on an mpc1000 - at the moment prefer to leave the sequencer and just get into playing on the pads.
i have a piano sample chopped over the first 8 pads - easy
but i have a drum sample on pad 9 id like to loop without having to hit it all the time (as id be busy playing the on first 8 pads). so i'd like to hit pad 9 - and have the drum loop go on continuously.
i go into edit the sample and LOOP ON is activated -
but when im back into sample mode and hit the pad - the loop only plays once
any help here would be welcome

thanks

it's not a feature... it can't be.

i didnt read it anywhere... and considering the huge amount of threads i saw lately where ppl keep asking how to get an Ableton-like looping mode , i assume only a few people actually know this "exploit".

wow.. so much drum breakdown possibilities

I did try this - but it is not working for me :(
can you please confirm the following

1) I assign the sample to a pad - easy - then go to the editor and change the 'ONE SHOT setting to 'NOTE ON'. So now the sample only plays if I hold the pad down.
2) But when I push e.g. Pad 1 and the numeric button. Nothing happens - the numeric button does not light up green and there is no change.
When you say a numerical field - can you please clarify. is there a you tube or similar video for this - i have looked but cannot find any.
3) Im looking to assign a sample to a pad so when i play live (i.e. NOT sequence) i can hit the pad just once and the sample will continuously loop.

Any ideas welcome.
thanks

in tempo cell, for example, any with a number value

Angel -

Thank you so much for your help with this but I still cannot get it to work. Do you have a screenshot or something I can see..

assigning the sample to a pad - no problem - so when Im in the screen where I change ONE SHOT to NOTE ON it only plays when I press it down.
When I check the sample itself - LOOP ON is activated with the start point at 00:00:00 and the end point the end of the sample. The sample loops - but only if I hold down the pad.
When you say hold down the numeric key and a pad - in which screen should I be when I do this.
I do appreciate your help with this but if you or anyone else (nanoloop etc.) can highlight where Im going wrong that'd be great.
thanks

still no go..

i feel a bit silly about this now - all i'd like is to hit a pad once and have the sound continually loop. no sequencer or time stretching, timeslicing or anything like that - id just like to play the 16 pads live BUT use pad one as my drum pad which i'd like to hit ONE TIME and have the drum pad loop. then i can concentrate on playing on the other pads.

im not sure im int he right screen - im in the screen where you can change one shot to note on, but even though i follow the instructions to put it on note on - it only plays when i hold it down - so its the opposite of what i want. i want the sample to play from start to finish when i hit the pad only once - and then repeat indefinitely.

in the sample edit mode - i have turned loop on and the start and stop points cover the loop - now if i hold down the pad - the loop plays all the time which is what i want BUT without holding the pad down.

going back to the screen where i can choose between note on and one shot - any combination of a pad - say pad 1 and then the numeric key does nothing. the numeric key does not light up at all. angel said something about having the cursor on a numeric field - like the tempo - but the tempo field is not in the screen !

nanoloop have you got this sequencerless operation working could you please let me know how you got this working - even if you have video/screenshots that would be ideal. and sorehead - clearly you;ve got this working - can you please either pm or reply with instructions as im trying to get this to work with no luck. if you (or any of the tea) pm me i'd be happy to supply an email address and send screenshots.

thanks to all of you - hopefully i can get this fixed soon. it would help a lot.
