does the 2500 come with the HDM-10?

i done a search but i get people saying it does and it doesn't...

anybody buy theirs recently that could shed some light on this?

i already have a hdm-10 from my 1000 that i sold, but if the 2500 comes with one meaning me having two of them i could send one to the guy who bought my mpc as gesture.

I bought my 2500 brand new and it came with the HDD bracket already fitted inside. I thought that it was included by Akai as standard on a 2500, but I could be wrong.

I've read somewhere in this forum that a few people bought new 2500s recently and the HDM10 was not included.

i'm going to look at mine. ive got an old HD sitting here but i didn't want to fork-out 25ukp for the hdm-10. fingers crossed.

which leads me to 2 questions:

1) what sort of cables/connector do you need for the HD?
2) can you copy say the complete contents of your CF onto the HD, or can you only copy the files/seqs that you have open in memory?

My 2500 had the HDD kit in it... Its supposed to come with it. People who say that they didnt get it most likely bought a used 2500.

Yep. The 2500 ships new with the hdm-10. If you bought a 'NEW' 2500 and it didn't have it, you got got!

1) You don't need any cables or connectors. The HDM-10 is simply there to mount the disk in place. The rest is just plugging in.
2) You cannot copy from CF to HD directly in the MPC.

did it last night - what a simple job and can't believe i didn't realise it just plugged straight in. think it was all the talk of buying hdm10's that threw me

it does seem daft that you can't backup the card to disk or vice versa. it would be handy to copy directories and the like. maybe one for the next jjos?

Just copy your CF card to your PC then use a USB cable to transfer your copied CF card stuff to your HDD. Thats what I did. Took me about 6 minutes to transfer about 2gb of stuff from the CF to PC then PC to 2500 HDD.

my pc is in another room

now got a usb CF reader from ebay for a couple of pounds, so is easy to transfer/save files. still seems dumb that there is no bulk copy between card and HD though

Stoped using CF cards after installing the HD. I save everything to the HD, back it up thru USB. So it's not necesarry to backup from CF to HD or vice versa imo. Or u must just have installed the hd and u want to transfer ur cf data to ur HD. But that occurs like once or twice in a lifetime.
