Which brand do you use?

Digi001

Which is the easiest to use?

U leave yourself open to SOO many jokes with that.

which do you recommend?

One with a bit more specs than you actually need so you can grow into it.

and which do you not recommend?

The opposite of the last answer.

every interface I've ever used was easy to me, but they might not be to someone else man, idk. I'm with the digi001 cause it's fine with me. I'm not a gear hog, don't feel the need to get the next best thing at all so I stick with what I got, I'm happy with it.

That's understandable I want something simple but with some good features....when your recording into the computer do you have to record tack by track or could you record the whole beat???...Im not sure of this i have been on the guitarcenter website and it does not say...

I am able to track 8 inputs at once into Vegas. In Vegas I can have those 8 inputs go to any track I want.

Even though people sh!t on M-Audio saying how bad their products are, I never had a problem with my Firewire Audiophile.
Works great for DJing with Traktor 3. Very low latency. I used it also for midi-ing my gear into Logic 8.
If it had more inputs along with MIDI it would be better (410???). But for the price, I couldn't beat it ($100).

yeah i had a 410 but i sold it for a very low price..biggest mistake i made gear wise..but i'm hoping on copping the m-audio projectmix soon as i get a job. :lol:

but lamp how do u track 8 tracks nto your digi at once???

i take it you guys have never seen a digi001 before? it is all of capable of tracking 8 channels at once. that is why it has 8 inputs.
i have always used the echo\event layla. also 8 in\out. but recently i switched to a motu 1224. but only because i have been having an intermitent driver issue with my new pc. otherwise the layla has always served me well. and keep in mind my layla is a 20bit unit and the drivers are all beta. motu also has a good rep for they're gear. make sure drivers are availible for your setup and that your interface will serve your needs not only now. but as lampdog said for the future also.

So for you, it would great to know the specs of your gear before purchasing so you can compare to what you actually need for your studio/setup.

no need to laugh at me fam i just go a different way when it comes to tracking my beats into the DAW..i've seen people use the cords with multiple audio phones on them (think theyre called snakes) and i just track my audio track by track which is frustrating at times..was just asking how you track eight at the sametime

I wasn't laughing in a derogatory way, but I'm still going to laugh.

Digi001 has 8 ins. my 2kxl has 8outs. Digi001 8ins break out into vegas tracks. Simple. That's way multi channel audio interfaces and multi channel mixers going into computers daws work.
