whats your way to multitrack out of the 500?

I turn the volume down inside programmode on every single sound except the component(ex. kickdrum or drumloop) I'm tracking.

when I continue to the next sound I load up the project agin and turn everything down except the next component I want to track next(ex. Bassline)

feels like its a reallybig process to go thru, but I haven't thought of any other way..

*note:
I multitrack from songmode, where its note possible to solo a track, without entering everysingle seq and changing it from there.

I haven't tracked out anything yet but I was planning to do it like this:

From sequence mode, using the solo option and by syncing the MPC500 thru midi with Logic 8.

I figure I could record each MPC track to a Logic track and do the processing there on the audio.

I don't use Song mode too often, but for your way of working I would like to suggest to convert your song to a sequence and then mute/solo the tracks. There is an option to create a single sequence from your song in song mode! (I believe you do lose tempo changes in your song).

i've try'd to do that but my mpc hangs.... don't know how to get around that

track solo is the way to go on this one. i'm not familiar with song mode, but if you need a sequence to use track mute, then it's a good the mpc has the capability to convert a song into a sequence.

I'm tracking off of a different beat this time and now the mpc dosen't hang whenever performing seq convert...

I wonder why? I have the same OS as on the latest beat a tracked... (currently using 1.3.1 OS)

I wonder if It has anything to do with th eamount of mididata recorded on each sequencetrack....


but hey! it works this time so I shouldn't complain
