Which one is better? I want a non-biased opinion. What are the pros and cons of each?

moyphee wrote:I've never had this happen and I use my MV on daily with some pretty big projects. What exactly did you do to make it freeze?
moyphee wrote:Not so. Layering is done through the SMT with up to 4 sounds /pad. No resampling is required. You can drop any sound in memory into the slots at will on the SMT screen. This allows you to experiment without screwing up your original sample.
* Resampling is used if you want to permanently fuse layered sounds and/or effects together.
moyphee wrote:- too pricey and unnecessary if you already run a PC/MAC recording system
List price is down to $1900. I paid only $1885 shipped when I switched from my old 4000.

moyphee wrote:You should also take into account that the 8800 has several features not available o the 8000. The most important (imoho) being the expanded export functions and realtime playing of Pattern Track.

moyphee wrote:If you choose replace the original is cropped. If not a truncated copy (your chop) is created and place in the SMT slot. You can check the Sample Manger your new smaller sample will be close to the original in the list.
*The other chops will only be affected if you choose to replace
