level 156??

so i import a PGM i made myself..... I press MODE+PAD7 (pgm) and can adjust the level of the samples... They all show up as Level: 156. when I try to adjust, I can tune them from 0-100, but I can't adjust past 100. Even with the NUMERIC key. What is going on??? this is driving me crazy -- why can I not adjust them as high as 156, and since i can only adjust to 100, why are they all starting as 156?

as soon as i drop the level below 100, i cannot raise it to above 100.... I'm new, had my MPC-1000 for 2 days, but this is bugging the crap out of me.

i had that too, a couple of times. mostly when i imported pgm from my old mpc 2000 xl. the samples are not supposed to go over 100 so that's a weird bug. plus it distorts the samples playback because it's too loud inside the mpc. just switch everything back to 100 (or 80, thats better because you have more headroom), save the pgm and forget what you just saw. it's no good.

this PGM was made by chopping a loop in ReCycle, then exporting as AKP. I imported the AKP file to BlueBox, then saved as a PGM. then I loaded it into my MPC-1000

and the levels for all pads are set to 156. I'm relatively new to the MPC (had it for 3 days) but I just can't understand this..... How can the level be 156 if the MPC-1000 can only adjust level to 100?

I can go to global pgm edit and set everything to 100, but it is weird to me that this PGM hits 156 even though this number is not "allowed"

I am coming from a MV-8000 environment, so I expect to run into some "lost in translation" - type of problems, but really?

maybe its a bug. BTW, I'm using JJOS v.1 4.99

os1 & 2 can run into random issues when importing older projects from other machines and Os'sd... just gotta live with it. best thing would be to recreate the projects from scratch.
