Hey all,
Just got an MPC 1000 and it's been great so far. I upgrade to JJ OS 2 and loaded some of my own samples into the the 128mb CF. My only gripe is the limit of the internal Flash Memory. Is it just me or does it seem very limited? At first I thought this was a bug in the JJ OS but I rebooted in the Akai OS and it was the same story. It doesn't take much til you get the 'Insufficient Memory' warning. Is there something I'm missing like the Flash memory doesn't clear out out properly?

Thanks

are you talking about the flash card? because i have 128mb ram and i load 50 full kits at the startup and i still have 3+ minutes to sample in cuts. if its your flash card then yea you would probably run out of space real quick. i have gigs of stuff stored on my hard drive. and the internal flash stores the os and on the akai os you can save to internal memory also. but its only like 12mb or something like that. and if you dont have the ram upgrade you will probably run out of space wuick.

I'm talking about the internal memory, not the CF or HD. I just seems very limited but maybe this is the world of MPC. I can load about 2 mid size programs into IM before I get 'insufficient memory' error.

Sounds like you need to upgrade your RAM, the mpc only has 16mb internal and you can upgrade up to 128mb, at the top of the mpc1000 forums is a post on RAM and CF rec.
