Another thing I would most def recommend getting the JJOS. Dont even hesitate about getting that operating system whether you get the free one or the ones you pay for.

Her is the link for all the information on the JJOS's. Take a look into this. Do your research. :D

Did your friend give you a CF card with some sounds? Lets just hope he did.

For now atleast downloard the free JJOS. Im serious... Your wasting time with your Akai OS. Dont bother with it.

Honestly it doesnt even have the Mem Card... I was doing something on it and all of a sudden my computer recognized it... i dont know if it installed the drivers or not.. But its plugged in USB.. and I have 1/4 to RCA(M-Audio Soundcard Audiophile) and i dont know if theres any sounds on it.. Or if i can at least get some to store on the internal memory for now until i go get a mem card tomorrow or the next day

* i tried to research and have the manuals and all. but i couldnt really find what i need i dont think maybe i just dont understand...

I usually just stick to Logic and stuff but i decided lets see what this thing could do

Damn dude...it's not a printer, you don't need any software, drivers, and no JJOS or whatever either. Switch it on, grab the manual and just use it.

You do not need to have your MPC hooked up to your PC to make it work...

Its a standalone machine. The only reason why you would hook it up your your PC would be to either transfer sounds from your PC to your CF card/ HDD.

Or

To track out your song to your DAW.

I personally dont use my MPC with my PC unless Im tracking out to Cubase. Other than that you really need to read the manual. Get a CF card or HDD to store wav formatted sounds. But if I was you Id just buy a HDD and not worry about a CF card.
