Yo, I got a probably 15 Year old 2kxl, I am used to make music in a kind of a all-day session, like 5pm until 4am or something, and since a few months its kind of sure that there will be a OS-crash in 7hours of using. Sometimes u cant use pads and knobs & the screen is "freezed" sometimes u can use the F-Knobs. First I thought its happening cause I got 20of32mbRam with samples but it is also crashing with prolly 3of32mbRam.

I reinstalled the OS, but It seems to be a hardware problem. Its really **** up cause u have to save everytime if u want to be sure that u dont loose 1 or several Songs and u never know if the crash is coming in 2 or 6 hours after starting...

somebody got any Idea how to fix that shit. U guys think its possible to improve it or if the best option is to buy a new one? - Exept for that the mpc is running good, all Pads and shit are in a good quality even afer 15years...

peace

Try removing any extras you have added on. I had problems with my SMPTE card and it would funk up the polyphony on the MPC. Notes would cut off, but only when the machine was left on for a decent amount of time. I would try to use your XL with newer RAM also. For $9.99, 32mb is so cheap not to try, and it's always safe to have a backup of them old chips.
