Hey. Just curious but is there a program besides the one already in the MPC 1k that you can use to do the bpm and chop/slice samples. If so (which im pretty sure there are) is it better than using the program inside the MPC 1k and what are the advantages?

yeah if you got recycle, you can export as AKP file, then import the AKP file to Bluebox, and export as a PGM. thats what I do when I want to chop something outside of the MPC.

The mpc (especially JJ OS) offers a few nice options for chopping. Basically it does the same thing as a lot of other software chop programs. I would only go outside of the box for sample editing if I want to do something with it that can't be done with the mpc itself.
