problem with tracking using onboard mixer and 8 outs

when I track out my beats I take advantage of 6 of my 8 outs (10 if you include the main outs) and separate each track individually. problem is when it is recorded in cubase and I solo that one track your can still hear a hint sound of the other elements of my beat that should have been muted. I,m not sure if it could be the outs of the mpc 4000 or my soundcard (m-audio pjoject mix) or cubase . anybody ever experience this?

I imagine the effects have a destination output too.

Worth checking that if you have used any effects they will probably come out the master outs.

So mute all effects are repeat test.

I don't always use the effects from the mpc so I don't think that thats the problem. but let me ask you something. being that I track everything out through the 8 outs do you think that I should not use the main outs (L R) to track out at the same time.

You should be using the 8 analog outs only. But I've finally started using my Adat outs more lately (no bleed over), and I'm loving the results from using it as well.

So what your saying is I shouldn't use the main outs (L/R) when tracking out multiple parts.

Yep, either the 8 outs or the mains, but not both.

I have the same problem with the bleed out to other tracks when I use the 8 outs.
I usually end up having to track my stuff into pro tools one at a time which is annoying.
Not sure why this happens with the 4000 cause i've heard other people say the same thing is happening to them.
I never had this issue with my 3000 and its kinda annoying that this is happening with the 4000.
This is one of the reasons i've been trying to find the adat expansion but cant seem to find one.

Main outs.

try recording 1 track at a time, or just 1 sound and trace it to see if it leads you to where the bleeding is coming from. it all boils down to the routing of your signal path.
