problems with chopping a sample

hi just bought an mpc 1000 and i'm trying to chop a sample into 16 pieces. everything seems to be pretty easy according to some youtube films but in my mpc it doesn't work. In my "Trim" menu , when i load a sample, there is no "slice" option and only "trim", "loop" and "edit", while on youtube the guy is using the same mpc (the blue-red one) and there are all the 4 options. **** now i don't know whether i'm a dummy or something's wrong with the mpc . Please help. Thanks a lot!

yeah but i bought an used mpc which was without any users manual so i got one from the internet. there's nothing about chopping a sample into 16 pieces:(

Here u can download the manual. I can't help u myself, cuz I have the JJ OS installed. It's been too long I chopped with the normal os for me to remember.

But really, read the manual and try things for urself before u start posting here. Otherwhise no one will reply and u'll be a hated user on the forum.

Sorry I misread ur post. So u do have the manual. Do a better job on reading man. Ur lucky I'm just a nice guy who's bored to death.

But check out page 60 of the mpc1000 manual.
U have to press the 'trim' button FIRST. When u've entered that screen, u'll see the option 'slice' in ur screen.

Could have found out urself.

your prolly runnin the akai OS ,and if you don't have version 2.what ever ,you wont be able to slice like that.

Go get the JJ os........Theres a free version........

Yeah I had this problem, either get the JJos or get the latest akai os off the website akaipro.com

Its proper simple to install it, it tells you on the site. Then you'll have no problems
