Im trying to sync up my mpc to my pc so that I can track out my beats easier ( having the Mpc's sequencer to understand cubase's ) I want to be able to hit play on Cubase and The Mpc Plays also, automatically and In Cubase's Device Set Up Section, I dont see my Mpc showing up, I only See My Alesis Usb Mixer....

Okay sorry for the wait...

First things first....

Have your MIDI cable on your 2500 MIDI IN #1 and have it connect to your MIDI OUT on the soundcard/ MIDI interface.

Now set your MPC to: SLAVE 1
MODE: MIDI CLOCK

Now on Cubase. (I have Essential 4, most are very similar but I hope yours is the same)

Go into TRANSPORT or just look for PROJECT SYNCHRONIZATION SETUP. No on there go the bottom right corner where its labeled MIDI CLOCK DESTINATIONS. Once you are in that column/ section click the box that is labeled for your INTERFACE (watever the name is) and also check boxes that say MIDI CLOCK FOLLOWS PROJECT POSITIONS and check box ALWAYS SEND START MESSAGE.

That should work just fine.

I also remember this youtube video of a old forum member that could help you out a bit.

Peace. I hope I helped out fam.

Ooh I might not be able to do it, becuase I dont have a Midi interface...I have a Mbox 2 pro and its showing up in that clock sync box but the midi ports on my mbox is being used by my Logic control mixer and the interface that I track me beats out with doesnt have Midi ports (Alesis Multimix usb Mixer)

Do you think theres a way you can do it by USB? Or it Only Works thru MIDI?

does midi only track out one track at a time? if it can't do it all simultaneously that sucks cos i like to use the 'track mute' function in real time when recording out beats.

also, do u mix ur tracks in midi format, or do u then bounce out the midi into audio?

Who is that ques. for?

if its for me, if mix mine in audio/mono...I have a alesis multimix 16 mixer so I can track out 16 instruments at once but when I use my motif as a slave I have to mute the instruments on the motif and track them out one at a time...but if I get cubase to connect with my mpc, I wouldnt have to cut, copy and paste after tracking out everything because everything would be on point, when using the metreonome with cubase and mpc together

Im when you say "REAL TIME" what do you mean by that?....Im pretty new, so excuse you!!

No.

As has been mentioned dozens and dozens and dozens of times before, the USB connection is for transferring samples from your PC to your MPC and vice versa.

SV, time seems to move on, but your dumbness stays the same.

The reason I asked that "Since You Want To Be SO nose" I use my Motif With Pro tools By Usb so I figure it might work with the Mpc.

And Im not always on here so I might miss something, So mind you business and when you see my post, DONT REPLY! LAME'O!

How the hell do you have that much equipment but dont even know how to use it?

Thats smart.

Some people gotta learn that your gear will not make you sound dope. If you do not have the skill or dont know how to use it then your only wasting money.

So you're pushing all of that gear, and no midi interface? That's hard to believe. Midi interfaces are just as important as the devices they connect to themselves. Without it, you'll be scratching your head like you're doing now, trying to figure a remedy to get around it.

A decent 4x4 will get you started, and I always suggest going MOTU.

I have all my instruments connected to my Alesis Mixer, and I track My Beats Out Using Cubase....I have A Midi Interface (Mbox 2 Pro) but I just Use that For Recording Vocals....I do all My Beat Mixing In Cubase....I find the Alesis MultiMix 16 Great because it lets me track 16 instruments at Once.
