hey just reached the max capacity on a 4gb compact flash so i cleared out somethings on the card to make space...and when i usb(ed) the mpc with my computer the card says there is alot of space...but when i try to save to the card now...the card screen says card full

can someone help me with this problem?

how can i repair the card?

Could try copying everything onto the pc, format the card, then copy it all back and see if it shows the free space as available ...

it could be a few things. i think i've read in one of the forums that there's a maximum amount of files a CF card can have in the root directory, so if you're trying to save to the root directory but you've reached it's maximum capacity for the amount of files you might get that error. try to see if saving inside of a folder gives you that same error.

it could also be that no one has ever confirmed that a 4gb card is fully compatible. yes, you can save and load from a 4gb card, but no one has ever confirmed that the entire 4gbs can be utilized by the mpc. in other words, you might have only 2.1gbs of data on a 4gb card, but the mpc can only utilize the first 2gb's so it thinks it's a full 2gb card.
