So it seems everytime I ''save entire memory'' I end up with missing sounds...Even with saving all my Programs separately prior...This perticularly sucks with whole shows/sets worth of tracks...(Sorry I had no time to do an extended search..) any clues? Otherwise I fear Ill have to use my computer as my main midi sampler for triggering loops/sounds & everything my synths are not handling......

I was thinking it was a folder issue, but if im resaving everything into the same folder/project wouldnt-(or shouldnt?) everything just re-save? So,does this mean its possible my wavs may be hidden in some sub-folder?-(too bad the mpc cant search through the entire system, like windows does, when your missing wavs like in acid pro etc...)

I think it"s mainly an issue of different samples and programs that have not been named. If you don't name all of your samples they keep the default, same with projeects, sequences, etc., so when the project goes to load the samples it can't figure out which ones you want... Since I have saved everything to it's own folder I no longer have this problem. Just remember to save after you create a new folder. You'll see what I mean.

I find that everytime I save a project, I save ENTIRE MEMORY and ALL SAMPLES AND SEQUENCES. Oh, and in the beginning when I'm putting together programs, I save those independently - BUT ALL IN THE SAME PROJECT FOLDER. This might be overkill but until I have a firm grasp on the way MPC's save material, this works for me.

This will work for a while, but do yourself a favor and save them all in their own folders. That way you know that no sample, sequence, project... etc. will share the same name. I damn near gave up and sold my 1k at first because I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. Good luck.

by "them all" do you mean save each sequence to a different folder? I'm new to the 1000, and the MPC line in gerneral... And the manual doesnt go over the best way to reliably save and load. I really need some help in this area

Yeah I create mostly all my samps from scratch, which I follow through with naming everything independent...I guess I will Play around with saving in this order-(Create new folder,Save all newly named samps/seq's Independently into that folder etc..) So, whole kits will be saved in numorous project folders?-i.e. if I use the same kit in 2 different songs in a set, they will be basicly the same kit but saved in different folders for different projects...(seems to take up alot of hd space, but I figure hd space versus the insanity of missing sounds/reconstructing means time for a bigger drive....Thanks to all...Respect

mesaone, if your just saving a sequence just make sure you give it an original name or even add a number to the end so that you know you havent used it before and you can save it anywhere. I just create a folder everytime I create a project... Good luck. As long as you dont load a project to find several question marks, you should be good.

Damn it.......So I go to create a new folder and the 1000 locks up....It still saves sounds and seqs, but I cannot create a new folder on my harddrive or card..Possibly an issue with jj os 4.99? (Are you suppossed to reformat your drives with every o.s. upgrade?)-(I havent) Thats the only thing ''Major''(os 4.99) that I've done in the past few months to this unit..hmm.. Seems this Whole saving issue started on my HD and then my Card...What a snowball this has turned into..Playing Voodoo in a few days, and this could be an issue...

my problem is that in order for the sequence and programs and samples to save, unless i want to do each individually, is to "save entire memory"

and the only way to load all in one is to load the entire folder. there is no command for saving just the sequence along with the samples and PGMs it uses?
