Yeah, different MPC's have various sounds but to be honest the differences are negligible.
If the 500 is workin for you and you dig it's sound then your good!

Check this tread out, you can sound compare for yourself, (except the s-3000/MPC-3000 series.) Good Stuff...

you're basing that comparison on

1- a 2500 recorded with who knows what audio interface
2- onto tape/camera with who knows what type of converters
3- converted to low-quality .flv file and uploaded on youtube....

no offense but this is a lot like listening to a recording of Yankee Doodle through a tin can with a string in it and trying to determine the fidelity of the recording compared to the original performance.

mpc 500 Great device except for the flowers ass bugs


I'm mixing on ns-10's. So my mix is pure, i was just thinking about this topic, nada mean.

i think you're both wrong. :shock: good MIXING = a good mix. and part of that is KNOWING your monitors/room. also, mixing on ns-10's don't mean its a "pure mix". that's just funny to me. they actually gained their reputation from their awkward spike in mid frequency. so if anything they won't sound "pure" when you're working with them. you just gotta know how to make them work for you.

Honestly from the vid I heard no noticeable diffrence. But to be fair I was listening with my home computer speakers not my studio monitors...

I used to have an MPC4000. It was clean and the MPC500 was a LOT dirtier sounding, but I much prefer that. If you take some clean sounding drum machine style sounds that would normally sound too thin played back from any other sampler, on the 500 they will sound a fat and crunchy. Actually usable.

Dont forget playback on who knows what systems we are listening to. TOO many factors to make a real decision.

But, it won't stop people from blindly dreamin now will it?!?! lmao....

word before my 1/2stack i used fruity loops and had a stack of drum samples which i used to never use cos they sounded flat as. however when i put those same sounds into the 500 the shit had punch, way more warmth and fatness. the 500 got a mean sound

I got behringer b2031a's... i was told that these are the cheapest i could pay to get professional quality. are they pro quality from y'all knowledge?

they really get the job done for me, they sound fvckin sexy! lol
