Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I was editing a song last night and kept thinking to myself "I better save it." I figured I would just save when I was done. Finally, hour and a half later I'm done. I used all midi for the song so I hit shift, save under all and song title. The next thing I know an error message showed up and disappeared instantly before I could read it. Now the song is gone.
Do any of you have any experience with something like this happening? I'm using 100 zip internal drive btw.

Please Help!

ur mpc has a venereal disease.

On serious note - shit like this happens dude. I reckon the zip just **** up.

I had a similar situation with compact flash, but luckily i recorded my song in the daw. what happened was i saved everything, then added some files from my pc to my compact flash card. I go to load the card in my mpc and everything is wiped off! I learnt from this and now back up all folders and files on my computer after i finish recording in the mpc.

also, i would get rid of the zip drive and install the compact flash its 1 million times easier and better, and its super cheap to do the install, u could even take it to ur official akai service centre and get the whole thing done for like 100 or 120 usd including labour.
