Hahaha, good one, but don't believe that. You gotta find one and check it out or read the effects specs in the 2kxl manual and see if it's something YOU like ya know.


You can't gauge a sound by reading about it. You have to hear it... :roll:

In my opinion the xl effects board sounds dated by todays standards.

Thats why I want to hear some examples (dry and wet). Lampdog maybe.........??? ;) Oh and Im not so interested in distortion. More reverb/room

reverb is pretty okay for your listening pleasure whilemaking a beat if you mess around with its send in mix menu.
but for mix down, not very much.

the only thing that comes in handy and that i leave in the mix is the delay option. sometimes the filter will make its way there too. and modulation does wonders for the kickdrum when you zero the color and play with feedback.

other than the above mentioned its not really usable in terms of applying to a mixdown, rather just to give you a mas o menos picture of how it MAY sound.

So, he can still read about what effects are in there. duh.

Nevertheless, reading specs will be of little use when trying to gague how good they are or whether he will like them or not. I'm assuming he's already read up on the board and was merely asking for personal opinions on the quality - which only audio examples (and more importantly) user feedback can provide before he makes a judgement.

i totally agree with Coz. Reading the manual will not give you any sort of idea what the fx board sounds like. that's a pretty ridiculous suggestion.

plus anybody who is barely starting on the mpc has no idea what reverb or flange even mean.

yeah it looks great, but the only downside to me is that it only can send effects through 2 outputs in a single recording. How can we use the effect on separate tracks when we are tracking out???? because we have to output by audio to hear the effects?

also how much u pay? it is very fvcking expensive on the net i see them for 300! LOL
