Diggin a waste of cash

You don't have to go all out.

For example, I have some spots where I can pull some decent stuff for cheap. Now say, every couple of weeks (pay day) going to spend $10 on records isn't a big deal at all. If you know what you are doing you can get some real heat, and really stretch out a few dollars.

If you can bring a portable player, or if the spot you go to has a listening booth...you are set.

I love vinyl and agree that noone should come into the crate digger section talking shit on digging but I legally bought an album off of iTunes (bad idea by the way with the low quality and DRM) that is expensive and rare as shit on vinyl. Quasimoto and 70s French Film fans might know what one I'm talking about. Do some of you think it's only legit if I win the dig-lottery and find it at an estate sale or spend all of my money getting one off of eBay? I don't see the problem with it.

I wanted to hear this album as a music fan, bought it digitally, then found out it was dope and perfect for chopping up - I had a copy of something I wanted to sample, and I'll be damned if I didn't throw it in the MPC. What, I was supposed to buy it on vinyl first? I would cherish it if it were in my crates, but I still put it to work as an MP3.

i just got a library card in my town. The have alot of dope cds you can borrow. I grabbed up a bunch of music from all over the world yesterday. Some asian joints, lots of middle eastern joints and some brazilian ones. Ima make some dope beats off them today, and keep grabbin dope cds from the library. im pretty excited about it.

An album like that , you can probably find a legitimate reissue , like a 180 gram pressing or something ,cause the album AND the movie is pretty well known amongst collectors and diggers . Dusty Groove has that type of stuff all day , for like $12 , so I would still get the vinyl . It's crazy though , cause you can luck up and find joints like that for a dollar but you pay $12 or $13 for a reissue .

Didn't know there was a reissue, I might pick it up. I didn't look because I hate buying vinyl online - not nearly as fun. Plus we have a lot of good spots in the city that I'd rather look in than the internet, but none that would have this as an original or a repress.

you're obviously close-minded and don't look beyond paying for records, I've found samples on shit I've found on tapes that were tossed out the car and I found them on the street. Samples a collection of sounds, and I've found better shit for free than the shit I paid for. You can't find all those samples everybody's got(which is probably what you're doing). I like being original, and I have found some Mobb Deep soundin' joints online and in the craziest places(I work at a library)

I'd say for folks that want to experiment with sounds work at a library, hell, volunteer and you'll get to know folks who are working with Audiophilia, those mofos are on another plane altogether, LOl

I've found my samples all over the place, from a mofo playing their rendition of something on Youtube to tidbits on SOHH.............I don't care

it's up to you to make that beat HOT, though,

the dudes that dismiss youTube are purist, but they ain't goin' nowhere, they'll stick to their basement collection............

grow the **** up and open yourselves up. the rest of the world is open, I've gone to russian forums(had to get a translantin website for the language barrier) and got me some gems from Russia's artists......

I always thought that sample-producers were like Pirates.........and I say Pillage on, my *****........go to wherever you can to get that hot beat. but make sure you make it hot...............

J-Dilla didn't always come up witha hot beat, but that's up for discussion.

Okay , so let's just ask the question , who loves the SOUND of vinyl , if you do then the case is closed. There is no substitution when you know what you want. I've seen beautiful women of EVERY nationality and I've been with a couple , but I just prefer black women . There aint nothin like one ( when you get a good one )

That's a weak excuse for giving up digging or trying to tell others to do so. If you're not good at something in life you shouldn't just quit and specially not tell others to do so because of your own shortcomings as an individual. If you put in the work and do your job at researching or just simply aren't too proud to ask others for help than you can go far.
