I would not be surprised, I mean shouldn't we expect an MPC 1000XL?
I know the instant I hear they have plans for one I'm gonna trade mine in for maximum value.
I would love an XL version on the mpc 1000.

If they do make an mpc1k xl i prob won't be for another 2-3 years, think of mpc 2000 '97 and mpc 2000 xl '99 2 years later and i felt then like it was time for a new one. the wack thing was that they stopped updating the 2000, no doubt. i prob would trade to xl like Foflex said.

Well, you can still buy a used plain mpc 2000 for us$1,000 bucks. they were only us$1,250 back in 97...

Isn't that the same thing that happened to the 2000 series

If there were to be such a machine, I'd guess potential additions could be;
- Hinged screen
- More assignable outputs
- USB Host functionality (which would allow external drives to be connected)
- Extra features in software (maybe timestretch, reverse, 'zoning')

What I would like is the ability to control more of the MPC through external MIDI. I have a U-Control Uc-33 MIDI controller
http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAMM03 ... UC-33.html
with 9 assignable faders and 24 assignable knobs that I would love to use for the mixer on the MPC. I would consider this plus timestretch worth the upgrade cost... maybe.
My understanding of the 2000xl is that it is capable of this.
Oh, and two sequences playing at once would be nice.
Maybe I should have got a 2000xl? Don't get me wrong, I am in love with my MPC 1000.
