Does anyone use a portable ie vastax handy trax to sample into the beat machine?
What other portable record players are there out there that you can use to sample?

I put this in the diggers section cause I know cats be taking their portables to garage sales, thrift shops
or record shows...

Peace

Oh also, has anyone use the dr sampler SP303 or 404? what are the differences between the two?

I prefer TT & Dj Mixer cause the Pre-Amp is 10x's better then a PT01 even though I have a PT01 I only use it for diggin.

SP404 is 24/96khz and sounds more flat to me than a 303. I like the 303 over the 404 just cause the 303 has the warm analog sound the Pre-Amp on the 303 is really good for how small the machine is..

Word, I feel ya on the TT mixer setup but I'm going on the road and won't be able to have a mixer so need to stay as light weight as possible.

GOod look on the 303 tip tho, I mos def want that warm fuller sound.

The PT01 doesn't have outs though right? to connect to a sampler?

If your traveling then I would say yes the PT01 will be fine it's not the greatest but it will do a damn good job. It has RCA In's so yes you can hook up the MPC to it.

i only have the handytrax n its dope but i heard pt01 has a better sound, on handytrax the sound is a bit thin and the bass really doesnt come out.

The PT01 is cheaper if you have to buy replacement parts and the built in speaker I think sounds better then a Handy Trax. The only advantage of the HANdy Trax is that the lid can be attached to the bottom of it.

My bad I meant the Stylus you can rig it to work. I think we used a Stanton one cause it resembled the stock one..
