Welcome man, I was int he same boat you are in about 2 weeks ago when I first got my MPC5000. I had already gotten my MIDI Controller and headphones. I had reason but at the time I was using someone elses computer and I dont stay there anymore so I just put down on a MOTIF Rack. But all you have to do now is make some music. get your sounds organized in the MPC and try to find some of your own.

Is that a 2kxl or 2k you're talking about?

2k classic

I'd go with the xl for starters. Many improvements over the 2k.

Check with whom ever you want to check with. But I'd try a find something local so that you do at least have the option of checking it out before you make that move.

You going to need an audio interface to hook that lot up. Forget about a mixer for now, look at getting a soundcard/interface.
