has anyone done this? my jack cuts in and out. i have to wiggle the cable or twist it to get it to come back. i dont record out of that jack, only monitor. its kind of irritating. i called one place and they said $45 and 2-3 weeks. thats to long to be without my baby. any thoughts? im ok at soldering. but have never done this before.

any thoughts?

Go for it - just take notes as you remove stuff and make sure you organise the screws you take out and remember where they all go again, especially if they're different sizes. :)

it would be a good idea to try another cable first, if you haven't already. Don't rule out the possibility of a bad cable before you decide that it's a bad jack.

yeah i tried a few different lines. all with the same results. i pulled off the cover of the mp, and tried to locate all of the screws to remove to get to the jacks. what a fricking job this is going to be. Nym, i see what you were saying about it being a ****. im a little intimidated right now because whenever i seem to take something apart and put it back together, i end up with extra screws. i dont want to have that situation with the mp. haha. i might just have to go ahead and take it in and wait the 2-3 weeks. i will be like a crackhead with no money sitting at the house.
