Probably User error but My sounds don't seem to be panning

just sampling some records, afterwards i'm going to the mix screen and panning them far left and far right but there seems to be no change in the sound spectrum at all. is this a known issue or am I missing something?

are the samples mono?

i believe they are stereo but whether mono or stereo I should still be able to pan them shouldn't I?

pans fine over here. where/what are you panning? individual outs don't pan, btw.

i'm not using individ outs, just stereo outs, I sampled some vinyl through the analog inputs, made a program and sequence, i wanted to pan some tracks hard left and hard right but no matter what i do they stay center.

i think you just ran into a fact that i still don't feel comfortable with in os2:
you can use either pgm mixer or track mixer. if you switch to track mixer, all individual parameters you set up in pgm mixer (volume, panning one sample left, the other one right, putting fx on some of the sample in the pgm) are ignored and you can now only apply fx, pan and volume to the entire track.
this makes it impossible to ie. pan two hihat sounds, put an fx on one of them, record it and THEN lower the track volume. because if you lower it, panning and fx are ignored.
this is pretty much the baddest limitation for me in os2.

i see, thanks for letting me know about that. I'm not on os2 though just using os 1 right now but I was thinking about upgrading if things were simpler on os 2.

yo comrob , i felt the same b4 , but after a minute, although u give up all the specific pad levels n stuff when u switch from drum to inst in that mixer page,it actually makes it really easy to just grab hold of a whole track's level real quik without having to go adjust pad levels individually in the mixer ..i guess depend on how u work...personally i'm pretty happy w/OS2......i just wish for a 'whole' command on layers 2 and 3 in drum edit, some more CC-to-internal-sequencer controls assignable from q-links..
