mpc 500 compared to the mpc 1000

Hi folks. i just got an mpc 500 freshly the other day and its a great tool. Im just wondering is there a huge difference between the 500 and 1000. just saw a video of the mpc 1000 and it seems a little bit more user friendly. Has anyone used them both? Think i might upgrade sooner rather than later.

True. thanks. Im new to forums tbo so i guess i know now for future reference. If i asked someone in person the same question im sure they wouldnt respond to me in the same way. One could be an ass in the virtual world but then they might be cool in the real world.
Anyway thinking of jumping right up to the MV-8800. looks like the tool for me.

Hi there. The 8800 is a super great tool! It's not that folks don't want to answer your question and be dicks. They write it because the info already is out there. The 1000 is of course better than the 500 but not anymore user friendly. Every equipment is easy to use when you get your hands deep enough into it. ;-)

Thanks. sometimes its more digestible when someone tells you directly. Its true about the 500 and the 1k. Ive been watching vids of the mv-8800 and i used the mpc 5k the other day and i think rolland seems much more user friendly. Not like im going for the easy option but need to be able to drop ideas as soon as it comes. i read the section that compares them both and the rolland seems to have more votes knowing that this is a mpc forum.

The 500 is smaller than the 1000 and it is a bit more time consuming to program it due to its smaller screen size. But a helpful tool to use is the Blue Box software if you dont already have it. Its a free download and it allows you to organize your samples on your PC and assign them to the appropriate pads...just drag it into your MPC via USB. This saves a lot of time. heres the link if you want to download the software...
