Akai declared MPC 4k, not and MPC :)

This just in from Harmony Central:

So it sounds like since the MPC 5000 is the first MPC with a turntable preamp, that they just indicated that the MPC 4000 is not
really an MPC, since it also has a Turntable Preamp ....

I take it that this is another Nukai strong effort at promoting the 5k. They're doing all they can to put the 4k in the history books. The 4k was something they couldn't put more stock into, something a little more they could bargin with.

That is not a good thing for the 5000, since the 4000 had the engine of a REAL sampler ( Z series )/

Hahahaaha! Bunch of ignorant unprofessionals..The most wise thing Linn ever did (after MPs,ASQ nad Linndrums): to leave Akai

they are just doing what they have to do in order to sell a new product line. even if it means shadowing one of theyre own legacy products to make the new line seem cutting edge.

I understand the reasoning, but that statements are fallacies.

well you should all be used to Akai's false advertising by now -
or do you own MPC4000's with real-time streaming from their hard drives...?

I remember that being advertised when I bought my MPC 4000s. It was also advertised that it burned audio CDs not simply data CDs. At that time, business was still being run by the "old" Akai if I recall correctly.
