MPC with fruity loops

I just started using fruity loops, just to host the VSt's I wanna use, just curious is there anyone else out there doing the same. Im trying to use my mp as the master, and It just isin't syncing right, I just need some all around help, Im new to the makin music with computers on the production aspect, just some all around general info would help me, I have a MPC2kxl.

If i were u i would get Reason cause of the crappy sounds on the FL.
Im currently using reason as a soundmodul with my midikeyboard and in to my mpc 5000, and im sequencing everything on my mpc. you could try that if u want.

to sync the mp to fl studio, go into the midi settings and select your interface in the midi out section. then under the box there is a switch that says enable, click that. now the midi device should be enabled. i guess my next question is why are you trying to sync the 2 together? for tracking? or just so the mp will play the vst's. if it is just to play the vst's, you dont need to sync the 2 unless you are programming your synths in fl. if thats the case, you would be better off making fl the master because if you make the mp the master, the first note of any audio coming from the mp will be cut in half.

as far as fl studio having bad sounds, that program supports vst and vsti, so you are really only limited to what you can find online. from what i understand, reason allows you to use their instruments and thats it, so the sound options are a lot less flexible than you would have in fl studio. im pretty sure that you can make any sound in fl that you can in reason, then you can add other vsti synths and make more, and fl is cheaper, and records audio, so i never really saw the attraction to reason. just my opinion though.

Heh, i guess u dont use reason eh?:P
It does record audio. Good thing with it also is that u can rewire it with Cubase and use Cubase as a sequencer. Reason is a software to like Fl but has better synths, but alittle to complicated for beginners.
TBH IMO FL is only good for newbeginners.

But if your a sample user only, then FL is a good one to use. Thats what i started with, make sampled beats with FL. But now i like to make my own melodies and i prefer playing the sounds with mpc or keyboard.

i actually dont use any software other than pro tools to record to. i didnt think you could record audio in reason, so i guess i was wrong. all i was saying is that reason, as far as i know, doesnt support vst's. that means that you are limited to what reason gives you. but youre right, i dont and never have used reason.

i dont think fl is strictly for beginners. i think it is a pretty powerful piece of software. i would say its way more powerful that an mpc, but like the mpc, you have to master that ish.

as far as rewiring reason to cubase, you can do the same with fl. i guess i dont understand why people say that fl is for beginners. i guess it doesnt matter really. as long as people keep making music, right?

anyways, to the original poster, did you figure out how to sync the 2?
