Seems like it would be cheap enough to build just to try, even if it doesn't work!

How do you like the Project mix?
What software are you using with it?
Im still debating on whether Im gonna run the project mix or just get the 003 to replace my 002.

I like it a lot. I use it with Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4 and with reason. But I use it almost just for the faders and a couples of features, I bypass the preamp for the vocal because I use the Focusrite Liquid Channel (Channel Strip) and I also bypass the A/D convertion, I use A/D Converter of the Liquid instead. The preamp of the projectmix are the same as in the 003, and you have both 8 analog inputs 1/4 and mics on the PM. (There's just 4 XLR inputs on the 003 I think). I also have wordclock sync between projectmix and focusrite, and it works great. Not all semi-pro devices like the ProjectMix have this feature. The M-Audio drivers are not that good, but you'll learn quick how to deal with it. I use the projectmix since 2 years, and It'll take a while before I get rid of it, there's all I need on it. The next step will be a much bigger professionnal mixing desk for recording/mixing entire band. But I'll get 8 more inputs that I can plug with ADAT on the PM before it happens.
