So I'm saving up to get started in hardware sampling. I got FL Studio 8 about 6 months ago but I've already realized I'm not a software guy being the hands on type learner.
My first question is regarding some mpc 1000's on ebay that come with a bunch of extras such as the RAM upgrade, expanded hard drive (120 Gig) and a library of sounds. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the RAM upgrade either way, but I'm wondering if the 120 Gig is necessary since i plan on having the mpc connected to my computer anyway. There is another mpc config. that just leaves out the hard drive but includes the other stuff. what do you guys think?
My second question: turntables. I have been lucky enough to inherit a few thousand records from my parents who are both audiophiles. I have some old crappy belt driven tt's that they were willing to give me but nothing suitable to sample from. Can you give me some suggestions of inexpensive usb turntables with internal preamp? Also if I have my computer connected to the mpc, how can I connect the turntable as well since there is only one usb port on the mpc?
Thanks,
