floppy vs. zip vs. CF...

which do you prefer using? i had a scsi zip drive but since i just recently fell victim to "the click of death". i pretty much will not use an external drive anymore.

i've been using floppies and i've grown quite fond of them. not much space in them, but if you get creative by saving your sounds mono or at a lower bit rate you cant fit quite a lot onto one disk.

i'm pondering putting a CF reader though. are they pretty reliable compared to the other methods of saving and loading?

I like keeping the internal floppy with external zip. Best of both worlds. I still like to use my old floppys from my 60 if i didnt have those i wouuld be all zip.

how do those internal scsi card readers work i dont get it. you can connect to scsi from the inside? and what about the outside scsi port?

We have an internal cable kit that allows you to hook up the internal SCSI drive and still keep your external SCSI port active. It is simple to install and requires no tools other than a screwdriver. Installation instructions are included.

Kits are available for the MPC60 and MPC3000 - these are the sampler models which don't have an internal SCSI connection.

The special kit isn't needed for models like the MPC2000XL or S5000/S6000 - those units have an internal SCSI connector and the internal card reader drives can be hooked up with a simple ribbon cable (which we include with the drive).

and these are hot swappable?

Absolutely! We only sell SCSI drives that are hot-swappable.

internal zip and it works great, eventhough its 21th century and everyone "should" have a cf-reader

After years of using an external zip100 I finally purchased and installed the CF reader. It has some minor glitches, but I managed to save 12 full zips onto a 2gb card. No loose cables out the back, no complaints. The unit is nice as one piece.

I love my CF it's so much easier than dealing with floppies or zips and i can save much more on them and manage them with no problem!
