hey everyone, i just recently bought an mpc1000 and i have been playing around with samples that i have loaded using the flash card, but i want to start recording samples from my music collection on my computer. i just wanted to know that i am buying the correct cable for doing this. as of now i only have the mpc and 2 reference monitors, so i don't have a mixer yet.

i believe this is the cable i need: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Live-Wire-3 ... 1166742.gc

if anyone can just check out the link real quick and tell me if i can use that to record into my mpc i'd appreciate it. thanks!

that cable will work for a standard sound cards output into the mpc's inputs.

i'm not asking how to record into the mpc, i'm wondering is it best to record straight from the computers soundcard with this cable, or is it better to go through a mixer or an amp or any different ways people use?

The way your going is fine... Just make sure you get a long enough cable. It's always better to have more length than you need than not enough.
In the future you can always get sound cards and mixers for eqing, but if you start off this way you will realize that you don't really need them. Good luck.

Why don't you try out what you have.
