Installed and operate with no problems on a brand new MPC 1000.

I just got the same HD from tiger direct

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... CatId=2678

It seemed to fit in fine and the adapter went in fine but my mpc won't recognize it to format...when I loaded the mpc to check it on my comp I changed to hard drive and it popped up but it wasn't recognized either. I checked the easy things like making sure the pins are fitting all the way in and there arent any jumpers...I'm running JJOS 2 1.17 on my blue 1000...any help is greatly appreciated! I wanna get all my samples on my mpc it's gonna be so nice!!

hey dgrille did you sort out your problem? i've had the same, got the drive replaced, it gets recognised in my friend's 2500 but not in my 1k. Not a problem with the drive, not a problem with the mount... so if your situation resolved itself i'd love to know how...

Naa man, I sent my Hard drive back...I'm lookin to try another havent decided which I'm bout to move back to school and I'm in between computers right now...the hd was spinning and it's not like it's complicated to do so I don't understand why it wouldnt recognize...I'm gonna try another one, just combin thru here seein which has had the highest success..any progress yourself sparky??

nope, basically it's a fault with the MPC and not the drive, both the mount AND the drive check out fine in another machine. Bought my 1K in NYC last year and i live in Ireland. Handy, huh?

I'm not for certain if it's compatible with the 2500..but I just got that harddrive yesterday from Newegg for my MPC 1000 and it worked like a charm. I'm using JJOS2.

Mos, Rage:

Are the drives you refer to the same as this one?:

http://www.provantage.com/seagate-st912 ... EGE18V.htm

I see nowhere in the specs that there's a 44-pin IDC connection point. Good price for this drive and I want to order it, as long as I can get a confirmation that this indeed has fit in others' MPC 1000s.

Thanks!

Hello everyone,

I've been using samsung 120gb drive for about 2 weeks now.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6822152105

it's been great but today when I tried to create the folder,
hard drive froze and I had to turn it off and restart.
It loads all the folders fine, it just is that I can't save anymore.

Has anyone confronted this situation?
Thank you in advance.

To those who found sales and good deals, it'd be cool if you could post a link to the page where you made your purchase! I'm all about saving some money...

I know this thread is a few years old, so my question is this:

Those of you that bought big ole hard drives early on in this thread (2 years ago), how much space have you filled up? I know a 120 gb HD sounds good, but do I really need that much space?

I'm thinking of copping this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Hitachi-2-5-ATA-IDE ... 240%3A1318

60 gb hitachi with free usb 2.0 enclosure for $34.99. It's a kick ass deal, but I just don't want to run out of space!

So did those of you that have had hard drives atleast 60gb in size: Do you wish you had more space? Or did you not take up as much as you thought you would?

just saw that the auction i posted above is a refurb...too risky? It's a damn good price. To get a 60gb HD, enclosure, and HDM-10 hardware $60 + shipping? Waaaay better deal than the 80gb kit on mpcstuff.

no one has advice on hard drive size or getting a refurb? I know someone out there does...
