what up,

could sound dumb, but i want to multitrack my beats in cool edit (seems like a nice program) but could i sync the stuff? I mean if i push the play button on my MPC that it will start recording in cool edit?!?

i've got a roland edirol usb midi in/out and a roland edirol audio capture (works good!!)

if cool edit supports at least MMC (midi machine control) and preferrably also MTC (midi time code) or at least midi clock for sync. look in the help file for cool edit for those.

okay thnx I will go look for that.

I am new to multitracking ON the computer. What other programs are good?

I use Steinberg Nuendo. it is probably a little high end as far as features and price go for begining with.
Cakewalk Sonar
Steinberg Cubase
Logic Audio
even Sonic Foundry's ACID
are all good multitracks for PC.
