i just bought a fully maxed out mpc2500... i am a new user to mpcs. is it able to put a sample cd in the dvd drive and load samples?

the sample cd format:

WAV
ACID
DR.REX
REASON 2.5 REFILL

does the mpc 2500 read any of these formats? if so which ones and how do i load these samples? or how do i copy the samples to the internal HD and then load from there? any help would be great thanks

the mpc 2500 can only read 16bit 44.1khz wave files - no other format...

so if you have some fancy new 24bit 96khz wave files you have to convert them before using.

copying files directly from the cd to the internal hdd is not possible, because the cd-rom, the cf-card and the hdd share the same connection and cannot be used at the same time. to copy something from one media to the other you have to load it into memory and save it again to the desired place. if you have a computer with a cd drive you can put your sample cd in there and than copy all the files you want in one go over the usb connection directly to the internal hdd in the mpc.
