hi
i own both the MPD32 and MPK49 and since they have NOTE REPEAT and a TRANPORT BAR i think as a former mpc 1 thru 4000 owner that LEGITIMIZES those two as MPCs(kind of--just wait).

heres my case:

1. some people come here to talk about using their mpc WITHOUT sampling(hookin it up to a triton) and they get a whole forum to discuss just that.

2. the MPC500 has one..........the 500!!!...no jj...no chop shop...........wow....500.

3. i can understand the MPD16 and MPD24 but NOW......cummon man.

thanx

Those machines are just MIDI controllers, so I would consider them as just part of your studio and hence you can discuss within the 'MPC Studio Environments' forum. As Lamp says, this is an MPC forum, not an Akai forum, I don't want to start dedicating entire sub-forums to products just because Akai made them. In fact I'm currently looking at how I can reduce the current number of forums - I really hate it when you go to a forum site and there's hundreds of sub-forums for every little-bitty niche vaguely related to the primary subject. Less is more!

First off the 500, is a mpc. So it doesn't have chop shop. Some of the best music has been made without chop shop. neither the 60 or 3000 has chopshop, and I will tell you that my favorite songs thru out the past 15 years have been made with these machines. Don't clown the 500. Im beastin on mines, its not the machine its the user........LampDog quote. You can take the mpd 32 and the mpk49 to the reason or fl studio forums. Chuuuch! :x
