Justifcation of downloading

Just wondering what ya'll think about downloading music cos I download a bit, but I buy alot of records new and old so I think that it easily justify's downloading music.

Any thoughts ?

saves time save money its the same song why not if u wanna pay then pay its up to u nothing anyone says will really change ur mind if u have decided to download, this follows from the digging a waste of time and cash post.

if ur a collector then by all means do that i aint a collector i got into it to find dope shit to sample in the process i got value and respect for the art that dudes was doing but mans got bills to pay and no longer see any reason to spend time and moeny doing the whole digging thing as its not my way of earning a living.

i dont really download because you dont get enough time to listen to all the shit you've amassed. I'm happy just getting a few dope lps to listen to every week or two or three and just listening to and digesting those (as well as all my other stuff). Generally at home i'll listen to vinyl, the ipod is just for out and about.
Recently i started ripping some of my fav records to put on the ipod, it takes freakin ages though!

I don't think you need any justification, if it works for you, it works. I can't say i exactly respect someone who makes sample based music as there staple sound, or solely sample based music, and has never really been to a record store or doesn't even own something that would play back records.

I feel like i need a justification to not download. I mean, i'm already basically stealing, why pay to steal. The only way i could do the DL deal is if i DL like 4 hours of music at a time and made play lists. Everytime i download something, the outcome just isn't that great. I think half the reason is i own 80% of what i find on the net. 15% of what i don't own, i don't own for a reason. That leaves me with 5% and i just can't listen critically when the supply isn't going to run out when i'm on the last few new records and am going to go back to the stash. I just can't get into it as much.

Work however you want, just don't flip something that has been done to death and i'm instantly going to compare it to a classic. Even if you flip it better, it's still going to just be a better version of the song i'm thinking about which really doesn't make it better. Do i want a 69 Camaro or the new one to come out with "vintage styling?" I'll take the old please.

thats new to me, i thought it was just downloading music that was illegal .

a dj is what breaks out new music how is that illegal?

i can see playing stuff on your serato system being illegal cause some dont pay for downloads or the music they have is not theres or they didnt do the work of downloading it ,it was given to them.

buying records on the other hand you have physical proof that you have the music on hand and you paid for it.


the way i used to download was to gett he songs that i wanted and then go out and dig for them,then the file that i downlaod is legit,WHY cause i have the proof that i have a hadcopy of it or i paid for it.

but i havent downloaded music in 3yrs. shoot i dont even own a ipod my kids do,how they get there music ...you got me

but if it aint on record i dont need it or i wont even listen to it.

my ears are to use to listen to crackles and pop in my music ...i love to feel that it gives music more personality

There are zero record stores near me so now I really have to rely on downloading.
Plus I got plenty of samples/songs but I'm greedy like that.
