MPC 5000 vs Roland MV 8800

Ok so I am just about ready to purchase the 5000 and then I read on this Akai forum some people are recommending the Roland MV 8800 instead. I went to Sam Ash this afternoon and tried both of the units. Very similar in capabilities except the Roland seems to have more! Am I right or what?

Please what are the opinions? I am in overload at this point, what to do?
