MIDI Clock vs MTC

I was wondering what was the best way to synchronize your MPC to a DAW? Is it best to sync using MIDI Clock or MTC?

I have tried both but which is better? I didnt see a difference?

Midi clock is tempo-based and responds to tempo changes. It is therefore ideal for all drum-machines and samplers.

Midi timecode is more similar to SMPTE and gives absolute time, more useful in post-production.

For those who do not (yet) use tempo-changes in their work, either method will get the job done.

Check this out though...my Roland R8 drum machine loves midi clock, but after trying the same syncronization on the 4k, I was better off going with MTC which did wonders on my syncing all together.

But like I said, these are my experiences.

I guess it really depends on what DAW you're using too.

some DAWs can only transmit one type of sync, and receive both... and vice-versa. I've found that for cubase, MTC drifts, but MIDI clock doesnt.
