yeah its a wierd one that - looks like its gone, the adsr filter eg is taking up more space, so mbe it could be laid out better, i personally wouldn't have LFO/MUTE on the same tab, i'd have the 2 adsr's AMP/FILT on the same tab. but there u go.

I am big JJ fan and supporter, but I won't pay another 65 bucks for software without proper manual ( I got OS1 and stan's manual, which is great)
So JJ, please think about it, and maybe pay a little 0,01% of your income to stan who's done it before and done it good.

I am extremely happy for you mpc 1000 owners, but I need to make a complaint.

Plus, why don't Akai just hack his code (as he has done to theirs) and modify it and release it for the other MP heads out there?

^ he didn't hack anything, he was part of the software team that wrote it from the beginning. his creation from the get go.

also, akai couldn't "hack" the existing code any more than he could "hack" their new programming team's work since jj's departure.

Well as an employee of Akai surely he was bound by some form of copyright, whether he was freelance or not?

He's indirectly helping Akai sell the hardware, which is cool for them, but it's still a very strange set up.

nym is right and so is coz. you dont have to hack what you helped create. if you have access to the source code and the encryption process then you dont need to hack anything.

and for coz. yes anybody that works on a proprietary piece of software is bound to contract. and all creation is the sole property of the financial backer (akai). most even have to sign a gag order to stop the discussion of it before the initial release. simply put. if this was microsoft and not akai/numark. the creator of jj would be smacked with a very heavy lawsuite and probably not be able to get a job with a reputable software dev company ever again.

which is why nobody knows exactly who the creator is. and the reason for the shady payment method to get a password.

whoever made this is very good with code and deserves to be compensated for it. but that doesnt change the legality of it. and anybody can dispute this point all they want to. doesnt change the facts.

It's like the notorious graffiti artist Banksy... he's built his reputation by illegally spray painting walls in London and around the world (amongst many other stunts), yet he's made millions in the process. Rightly so in my opinion as he's not merely tagging a few buildings, but making deep and comical political statements. Well worth checking out for those not in the know.
