MPC WON'T START...HELP

when i turn the power on, the LCD screen lights up but won't show anything....so i'm thinking maybe its the LCD screen.... so i'm waiting for the buttons to light up (which will indicate the files are loaded and ready)... but that doesn't happen either... so i don't think its the screen since it seems the MPC isn't loading period... i switched it on and off a few times and the usual message came on the screen but it was messed up like when you get water in a digital watch, and certain parts of the numbers are missing..well thats how it appeared...turned it off a few more times again and it finally loaded up properly.... but i didn't think this problem was solved... so i turned it off and on again and guess what? the screen lit up but nothing showed, and the mpc didn't load up again.... can anyone help? this is really blowing my sh--

shot in the dark, but maybe you turned down the contrast?

i think its shift and the +/- key to turn up down but check your manual.

im hoping that is it, cos otherwise it sounds serious, hopefully someone with better experience can help then?

great news....i've figured it out....and hopefully this will help everyone who runs into this stupidass problem.... after opening it up and searching the net and running into brickwalls... i decided to check the ram... i opened it up and removed the card... plugged it back in and it turned on without a problem... turned it off and put the card back in... and the bastard worked.... what kind of b.s is that? haha...i'm sooooo glad its nothing more serious (hopefully)... but yeah..i was ready to spend money on nothing...but thanx for responding though....now i'm ready to run down the street buttnaked screaming HALLELUJAH...later

hahahaha. that feeling is the best feeling in the world....like when installing things and u finish or solving some other technical issue with equipment.

hell yeah... i was so pissed... i woke up early deciding to put some beats on the recorder and then to see the MPC not working...and to sit there for almost 2 hours and get nowhere....shit....i was screwed....but yeah man...i'm just happy my baby is working
