What do you think it will bring to your production work?
Do you need it?
What would you need it for?
Do you really need it?
Is there room for one on your desk?
Have you got the cash?
Do you like that 12 bit sound?
Do you think it will make your beats sound better?
...
..
.

It's up to you!

If you are just after the 12 bit sound I would recommend a rack sampler like an emax, S950, or EPS.

If you want a massive collection of MPC's then get the 60,

You get some of the besty features of the expanded 60 in the 3000, the intuitive OS, which if it didn't havem I'm not sure I'd rock a 60.

The 60 is laid out with more space and a bit more ergonomicly friendly than the 3000, but if it is sound you want, go rack and control it with the 3000.

"...I have the MPC4000, and the MPC3000. Should I go ahead and cop the MPC60 to add to my collection?.."

ABSOLUTELY !!!

just the fact that your asking leads me to believe that your an MPC head and would probably get it just to sit it next to your other mpc's..... ie.
add to my collection?.."

Nothin' wrong with that...??? :o  :D

I agree with kybeats. If you can afford it, get it. Who can say they got all 3 MPC's?
I enjoy using hardware. I almost got the whole line of Roland TR's (909, 808, 727, 707, 626, 606).
I'm still looking for a 505 and TB303 to complete it. For me it's just bragging rights in having 'em and using 'em.

monogee. Why do you want one? You see, I love(and I mean love) that 12 bit funk, so after long research, decided to get the 60. I wanted the sp1200, but went with the 60. Some great dirty funk in that tank.

elmacaco is right, you must get the expanded memory, I just got it installed and well, its the sh*t.

Having said all this, I suggest you keep your money(unless you collect mpc's). I mean, you have a 3000, 4000? Or what I would do is sell the 4000, then get a 60mk2 and maybe a s950(like a premier combo).

You're probabaly looking at 800-1000$.
Its up to you, but the best equipment is in your head
