regarding crossfade loop - it's still up in the air. it's a "challenge."

crossfade would only be appropriate if a sample is 200 ms or more.

very exciting times...

i emailed JJ about the loss of DEPTH and RELEASE in the FILTER page in GPE. here is the response i got back from Murai:

The screen of GPE is not a screen of completion.
It is a screen shot for advertizing that a filter 2 exists in OS2XL.
Therefore, a screen is still changed.
A screen shot will be changed if GPE is completed.
Since DEPTH changes specification, a parameter called DEPTH does not exist.
RELEASE may exist.
Since JJ is busy, an exact reply is not made now.
Although I feel sorry, please carry out a question, after a beta version is released.

so looks like we will have to request this after the beta is released.

i really hope he adds this back in because otherwise this could be a real show stopper for me. i make heavy use of the filters in all my stuff and DEPTH is one of the most basic parameters to use. i don't see any other way to get that functionality, either. :(

that's just DEPTH for filter 2, no? filter 1 still would exist as is.

a FiLTER 2 without DEPTH would still be better than it would be for you in current os2, where there's only 1 filter.

no, filter 1 depth is missing as well. take a look at the screenshot in your sig.

i don't expect fliter 2 to have depth, but filter 1 has it in OS 2 and doesn't have it in OS 2XL, which is a problem. not only is it a loss of capability but it means that OS 2 projects that use the filter depth paramenter will NOT be compatible with the new OS, or at least will sound very different.

That´d be bad news. I already disliked that he removed Vel->Pitch modulation. Need more modulation options!

agreed. DEPTH is a very, very important part. it's so fundamental that i feel like we're missing something.
i'd rather have 1 filter with DEPTH option (ala os2 current) than 2 filters with no DEPTH option

Do you guys think the chords feature will work via midi? It would be sick if it did!

and PROPER MANUAL !!!

105 US$ for OS without a manual is a joke...
By dtaa pla muk Sat Nov 08, 2008 5:27 pm
no, it's not a joke. murai spends a LOT of time on the extremely detailed, thorough online manual.

the online manual + mandatory practice does just fine.

NYM, with great respect for you, online manual suxx bollocks, big time
what I am trying to say is for over 100$ as a customer I should demand proper manual,
it's my opinion though...
Stan Steez made a beauti manual for OS1. and I bet he's spent 100s hours doing this
I mean JJ should think about it and if he/she/them are not up to create a MANUAL,
cut few hundrets $ from your income ( 105$ multi....let's say 1000 users = .......) pay it to Stan, or someone else
and that's it.
ONLINE MANUAL SUXX BOLLOX , eerie ?

peace

i kinda agree...
no more it is just a nice little os with some extra-stuff for 30 bugs but something that changes the way i work with my mpc. and i payed good money for it. my english is okay but i need proper english to really understand everything this great new jj stuff has to offer. and sometimes i just don't get what he is tryng to say.
plus i don't have internet in my studio and i'm sick of running through the whole appartement just to get to my notebook, looking stuff up, then run back.
he should pay stan some money so he can give us a nice clean manual!
i hate how stan put hours and hours in his both informative and entertaining manual and i still didn't read it because i'm on os2 now.
