Resampling

Well I just got a 3000 last week, very happy with the sound and feel, but one issue I'm having is trying to resample. I know this model lacks the feature, but I'm running my outs through the effects built into my microKORG. what would be the best way to use the effects of the korg and put my sampled sounds back into the 3K??

Record that then sample the recording

Or Sample thru MicroKorg

You can't sample into the microKORG, only run sounds through it's effects. what I meant to say is that what's the best way to resample without losing as much of the sounds' integrity as possible. I do have a Macbook with Logic and Ableton live, but I'd like to have an alternative method if possible.

The 3000 Has a spdif digital in. So once you get it recorded to the macbook you could transfer it back to the MP digitally.

Couldn't you just run it thru the microkorg being it has Audio in 1 & 2 and back into the MP record in?

not if "it" = the mp, he wants to sample back into the mp while it's playing, MBP=good/best option

Buy another sampler, use the computer or cassette deck to record the new sample, and then re-sample it back into the MPC.

well I already have a MacBook as an option, but I'm trying to avoid that unless I'm time stretching/Chopping up samples. and would cassettes have any negative effect on the sound quality?

casettes might actually improve the sound.

macbook pro, abelton Live 7, Logic 8

Sample on the 60, Save to Zip, Load zip into MPC Editor, convert sound to WAV, import to Ableton, slave Ableton seq. to 60's seq, trigger samples using the 60 as a controller, Rewire the Ableton into Logic to record...

easy, although I've not actually done it fully yet but I've been told it's possible.

uhh, I have a 3000, LOL, but yeah, I suppose I could try cassettes then. We do practically have the same setup, only I use Lite Live 7. Truthfully I'm trying to avoid running my sounds through software as much as possible, I wanna run the sounds through the 3000's awesome converters, though I dont mind running my microKORG on it's own along side the 3000. If I wanted to just trigger samples I would've used my padKontrol and a ASQ-10 to sequence.

I have a 3000 too but you know what I mean...

and using the method above does use your sampler's "awesome" converters because you sample your sound on it and then load, NOTE: not resample, it into the respective computer app.

yo man a reel to reel is dope to get that analog warm feel for resampling...
my older cousin put mee on to it back in the day... with all the digital and A/D mod's out there

the reel to reel is best i think...

cant wait to get back to my set up!

although reel's can be dumb expensive just pick one cheap one up at a garage sale and test it out im sure you will like it man and keep all your effects as well
